Shelby "Shel" Speegle
MA
Sexuality Counselor
Shel has a passion for working with Queer and polyamorous individuals as well as working with individuals living with sexually transmitted infections like HIV and herpes.Â
Shel sees clients with issues ranging from anxiety to sexual well being and aims to provide a safe space for individuals to explore themselves.
Shel’s approach to therapy involves guiding clients through a narrative exploration of the stories they use to create meaning in their lives. She works together with clients to help rewrite their core stories to reflect strengths and resilience. She pairs this with a practical skill clients can take with them each session.
Shel earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College. She also has an additional Master of Science in Psychology, where she completed a thesis focused on gender and sexism. Shel has also taken a sexuality studies course at the University of Amsterdam.
Shel is under the clinical direction and supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFTS, CSTS.
