Vernon chose ATC as his internship site in order to further his knowledge and training in sex therapy.
Vernon is passionate about working with Black men; however, he also has a strong passion for working with survivors of sexual violence, adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and kink-friendly couples. Vernon enjoys helping clients with understanding their sexual expression, learning more about consent and setting boundaries, and improving intimacy within their relationships.

Psychobiosocial Approach
Vernon is pursuing his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from National University. He is receiving a specialization in Systemic Sex Therapy. Vernon is also pursuing certification in Sex Coaching from Sex Coach University, and he is completing additional Sex Therapy continuing education courses through the Buehler Institute.
Vernon received his Bachelors of Arts in Creative Writing and Masters of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Mercer University. He received his Education Doctorate in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University where his research focused on the systemic impact of rape culture within the collegiate environment, more specifically fraternity organizations.
Vernon is under the supervision of his National University faculty supervisor and under the clinical direction and supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFTS, CSTS.
